We are a Mom and daughter owned shop! Mom started the flower business back in 2001 when the shop was in Playa Del Rey. Then jumping forward to 2014, she had been wanting to be closer to home (we’re South Bay locals!) and an older couple who’d been doing flowers and balloons was ready to retire and asked Mom to take over the shop. Then came 2016, Jane moved back to California from living abroad in Seoul, teaching English and working for a photographer, and Mom decided it was time to remodel the shop. So Jane, not knowing what to do with her life (every millennial’s problem, am I right?!), decided to help out, even though she wasn’t super stoked on the idea of hopping in to the family business. But after spending some time in the shop, Jane quickly realized how much she enjoyed working with people, flowers and especially Mom. With Mom’s experience and daughter’s fresh ideas, J Flowers blossomed. And the rest is still being written… So stay tuned!
